Vocational Service

Club Members are urged to serve their communities through their vocations or professions and adopting high ethical standards at work.

Exemplary work of individuals, groups or corporations is recognized by Rotary by instituting awards. 

At the Rotary Club of Madras, the following Awards are bestowed every year:

  1. Employer Employee Relationship Award
  2. Corporate Social Responsibility Award
  3. Life Time Achievement Award
  4. Vocational Service Award
  5. For the Sake of Honour Award
  6. Young Achiever’s Award

The common thread that runs through all awards is recognition accorded based on contributions to society through business or profession.

Propagation of The Four Way Test is also the primary responsibility of Vocational Service.  The Four Way Test acts as a moral guide to Rotarians and commits them to high ethical standards at home and at work place.

Sharing insights of one’s vocation or profession also is embodied in the Vocational Service.  Such sharing assists in understanding and appreciating Members’ vocation or profession better.
